The GJEPC held a webinar to highlight growth opportunities in the US market and explore ways that Indian businesses can best take advantage of them to both boost their businesses and increase general Indian exports, the traders’ body announced on its website. The rising US consumer demand for personalised and customisable jewellery pieces presents a significant opportunity for Indian jewellers which can offer bespoke services.

Eponymous designer and television personality Dallas Prince addressed jewellers and shared knowledge on US consumer preferences, local challenges, and how to adapt to ever evolving trends. Other guest speakers at the event included Ani Fine Jewelry’s designer and founder Ani Khachian, Jewel Couture LLC’s founder Mia Katrin, and Jillian Samuels Jewelry’s Jill Borgerding who all participated in a question-and-answer session.

GJEPC representatives noted the importance of sustainable and ethical sourcing for the market and its preference for minimalistic designs. The growing Indian diaspora in the US and importance of leveraging technology were also highlighted as presenting opportunities for growth.

In Kashmir, the GJEPC partnered with the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, and the Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India Limited to hold its inaugural outreach event in the region. Held in Srinagar, over 62 jewellery and handicrafts merchants gathered for a knowledge sharing session on how to increase exports, not long after the GJEPC initiated ties with the region.
